That's right- you read correctly. COZY MAG just got a whole lot cooler. (Is that even possible I hear you ask? Damn right it is.) On February 19th (that's just a few days from now) we're throwing the first in a series of music events called.... *drumroll please*..... COZY MAG Presents:
I'm super excited. Probably a little too excited. But I'm also really nervous. It's the kind of feeling you get when you've planned a birthday party and you just hope people will actually show up. Thankfully, my worries have been eased as we're lucky enough to have some absolutely incredible acts on the bill for the night, and an amazing venue: the Notting Hill Arts Club. Here's a little more detail on each act:
Jungle VIP, Dozer Carter & DMobbs come together as hip-hop trio OthaSoul as our first act on the bill. Known as the “Boom Bap Revivalists” (Bonafide Magazin) of the younger generation, Othasoul are at the forefront of the UK Hip Hop resurgence. The group have seen their success soar, with their BBC Radio hit, “One” and their performance at Bestiva being a testament to this. Othasoul will be performing a live set at the show- and are tipped to bring the house down following their most recent release, the Real Talks EP.
London based producer, selector and recent Souletiquett signee SELVSS is our second act on the bill. Following his successful Sasha Keabl edits and most recent double track release RITUALS, SELVSSE has quickly shot to success on the sound-waves amassing thousands of SoundCloud plays. Having already made a stir on the event scene, with DJ appearances booked all over London- he is fast becoming one of the most sought after underground producer/DJs in London. SELVSSE has only scratched the surface of what he has to offer- we are pleased to showcase SELVSSE’s unwavering talent with a live DJ set at the show.
Berlin based Nico Adomako is our third act on the bill. Hotly anticipated as a rising star in the German hip-hop scene, Idiot Savan's Nico has performed to sold out events in the capital, and will be making his UK Debut at the COZY MAG event. Having mixed our first “COZY MAG MIX:”, Nico is hailed as “the one that started it all”- as he inspired and set the tone for other selectors who mixed for us, such as Soulection's Hannah Faith. With a deep love and talent for music that allows him to count many Soulection members as fans, the only way is up for Adomako- and we are proud to present our first international act to the London music scene.
Londoner JD. Reid is the fourth and final act we are pleased to present. The 23 year old up and coming producer and DJ has already released an exciting project this year, a two track piece entitled Amethyst and released by Plasticia's record label, Terrorhythm Recording as part of their "elements" series. JD was named one of London's leading creatives by adidas Original, and was featured in their most recent superstars campaign. 2015 is looking to be JD's year- and we're excited for the crazy remixes he's sure to drop on the night!
Amazing right?! And to top it off, COZY MAG Presents: Is proudly sponsored by these two incredible brands:
