Clad in Ralph Lauren, Smoke DZA took to London’s Jazz Cafe for the first time last Tuesday evening. Never having previously visited London before, the Harlem rapper took to the stage with the comfort of a homegrown rapper. Many fans had been waiting years for his arrival and nothing about his performance appeared to disappoint them. COZY was lucky enough to be invited along to the show, along with 4 of our lucky competition winners.

The night was warmed up by local acts Bxnjamin and Confucius MC, who both provided inspiring and energetic performances. Performing hits such as Marley and Me, Slave to the Wave and Fhvt Bastard, the Kushed God possessed enough energy to do a three-hour set, if he so wished.

His famous adlib was ever-present as always, and from the first moment he said it, there was no confusion about the gig turning up. AL-DOE, a close friend of DZA, helped keep the crowd alive with his hypeman duties, even performing a track of his own. Smoke DZA also gave us a few tracks off his latest album, Dream.Zone.Achieve. You can purchase it here

Given the reception from an intimate crowd, there’s no doubt Smoke DZA will be back in the near future. In the meantime, check out this track:
