There's something special about going to the US as a Brit. Especially LA, the city of angels. Cue VI. The mysterious alternative/neo-soul London producer who recently returned from the West Coast, has racked up tens of thousands of plays with his self entitled EP, and just dropped this video to Odds of Life via a premiere from our friends at Saint Heron.
The video, filmed in a home-movie style, follows VI from his perspective as he travels from London to LA, featuring cameos from a whole host of famliar faces, from Soulection's Iamnobodi and AbJo, to Iman Europe, Budgie, Joyce Wrice, Rejjie Snow and even COZY's editor, FoxyNeela.
The track has a bouncy, soulful feel, featuring vocals from Ivor Novello award winning Nikki Cislyn, and VI. himself. Reflecting on the "odds of life", the video captures what it is to be young, connecting with friends from across the globe, and just having a good time in general. In what gives us nothing but nostalgia for sunny LA, the video is effortlessly made, which is a refreshing change from the often over produced visuals that saturate the market.
With his first track off the EP being premiered on Stamp The Wax, and now a music video premiere on Saint Heron, for an anonymous up-and-coming artist, VI. is doing pretty well for himself. We're excited to see where he goes with his music, and we expect nothing but good vibes from the mysterious musician.
